Among the birds I have seen this year but missed for photos are Sooty and Ruffed Grouse with either heard only or fleeting views of flushed birds. ?My experience with both has been photos only when having good fortune to have them magically cross road/trail in front of me or rarely found when heard drumming or calling. Not much success in appearances when trying to find them.

I am thinking of another try for one or the others tomorrow. ? I know some of the spots where one or the other has been seen lately like Hurricane Hill and Mt. Rainier but hope maybe someone has a likely spot off the radar with podsible photo friendly birds they are willing to share either off line or with tweeterdom. ?Any help would be greatly appreciated. ? Thanks.
