Hi Tweets,

while returning from our trek out to the Puget Sound Viewing Platform on
the Nisqually Estuary Boardwalk Trail, Jon Anderson spotted a MARBLED
GODWIT, flushed from the estuary mud flats west of Leschi Slough with
Mallards by an Eagle, and flew onto the mud flats west of Shannon Slough
south of the Photo Blind. I just wanted to let area birders know. The
Godwit has happily foraging Wednesday when we left. The first wave of
failed breeders and male peeps, LEAST SANDPIPERS and WESTERN SANDPIPERS,
seems to be diminishing as our peep numbers were down from two weeks ago on
a similar tide. We look forward to the female wave.

Good birding,
Shep
