I answer the email at Seattle Audubon, and we received this message from some researchers at Vanderbilt University. I thought some of you might like to participate in their research project.

Subject: Vanderbilt Birders Expertise

Hello,

I am contacting you on behalf of Professor Thomas Palmeri of Vanderbilt University. Our laboratory studies expertise. We are currently conducting a research project testing birding experts funded by the National Science Foundation. We are trying to recruit birders of all experience levels, from beginners to experts.

I am writing to ask for your permission to contact members of the Seattle Audubon Society to see if they might be interested in participating in our research. Could you help us to send a brief invitation (please see attached) to your group, either directly by email, forwarded by email on our behalf, or posted in a newsletter or web site?

Our experiments are all online. Birders can simply register and participate at: http://expertise.psy.vanderbilt.edu/
