Sherry and I ventured over to Hardy Canyon for the continuing DICKCISSEL. We arrived at 11:05am, found lots of archers, and no birders. We walked up the road to the sagebrush with the yellow ribbon and started looking. It didn?t take long before we heard the bird singing. It was just a bit further up the road, where the Green Dot road post was. It sat on top of a bush singing away for at least 15 minutes before flying further back and away, but we could still hear it singing. On our way out, we did run into Charlie and friend who were coming in. Hope they found the bird.

Before arriving at Hardy Canyon, we made a 20 minute stop at Hause Creek. Some of birds we had were;
Turkey Vulture 1
Western Wood-Pewee 2
Dusky Flycatcher 1
Warbling Vireo 3
Veery 1
Gray Catbird 2
MacGillivray's Warbler 4
Black-headed Grosbeak 3

Another stop was at Swift Rock (MP 182.5 on Hwy 12) to see if the Golden Eagles were around. The nest looked empty, so I hope they fledged their young.
We did see;
White-throated Swifts - 15
Lewis?s Woodpecker ? 2

After Hardy Canyon, we made another quick stop at Old Naches Rd., where Hwy 12 and Hwy 410 intersect, and found a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT.

Then we continued on Hwy 410. We stopped at Union Creek and hiked the trail to the falls. Not many birds at all, but we did have an AMERICAN DIPPER and BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER.
