Hello all!
Spotted that male immature goldeneye at Capitol Lake again this morning. ?He was swimming close to shore, and I went back home to get my camera. When I arrived he was trying to position himself on a log on the shore with the mallards. He was having trouble moving around, looked like he has an injured foot or wing. He was also visibly panting. This likely explains why he is here when he should not be. ?Not sure what to do-- I'm headed out to work, not sure who to contact in terms of wild bird rescue here in Oly. I am hoping someone out there will see this and know what to do.
Location: ?He has been hanging out on the south-east side of Capitol Lake (north pool), near where the steps are and the beach is fenced off and overgrown. I have seen him both in the water and on shore. First noticed him on Saturday morning.?
If anyone out there knows how to get this guy some help and can get the wheels in motion, please do! ?I am a teacher and will not be able to make phone calls from work.
Thanks,
Jen
