Hi All,
I have just encountered a?birder who lives two blocks from Cheasty and has heard (and recorded & had verified) Western Screech-Owl beginning in 2014, last heard a couple days after Easter of 2015.
Speaking of birds that are on Seattle's own City-Endangered Species list, a non-birder has described what sounds like a Ruffed Grouse in the Duwamish greenbelt.? If true, I find that surprising.
Both sightings particularly the confirmed one, should weigh on Seattle Parks plans to turn these areas over to exclusive-use athletics.
Also, Brian Pendleton and I recently returned from a 6 day trip including the POTHOLES AND PRAIRIE BIRDING FESTIVAL in SE-Central North Dakota as well as a loop through western Minnesota including a NWR (Tamarack) that was 44,000 acres, take that Nisqually.
Pictures from that are at:

Thanks all,
