It's been fun to see and hear familiar birds on TV during the US Open golf tournament, going on through Sunday at Chambers Bay near Tacoma.
I have learned that the announcers need to work a bit on their bird ID skills;) ?Yesterday, Joe Buck was distracted by an American Crow taking flight, and he remarked on air to his colleagues that a large vulture had just flown by! ?And just a few minutes ago, an Osprey started calling loudly, and Greg Norman remarked that he was hearing a particularly vocal Eagle!
The most common birds heard so far have been White-crowned and Savannah Sparrows, and an American Crow. ?Maybe one of you Tweeters will hear a rarity if you tune in!
