So, - Why no crows mentioned being seen or heard pestering this bird ? Is it more Common Raven territory ? Does it not threaten crows because their young are already fledged ?
Did anyone else besides Kevin L hear the CC call with it's rattly, creaky calls ? Does the call indicate agitation, warning to bothersome creatures... ?
Is there a way to tell its gender? It's age? (I'm assuming it is a youngish bird... )
Has anyone besides Ed P yet seen the bird actually catch or eat an identifiable bite (or cropful) of something to eat ?
Any bets on how long the Caracara will stay in that area ? Thoughts on direction it will go when it does leave?
What IS the correct pronunciation of "Caracara" ? :-)
That's it for now...
