I've been watching the Hog Island Osprey cam for 3 successful years and yesterday, while I was watching, eagles snatched the 2 nestlings right before my eyes, hatched June 7th and 11th I believe. Apparently, there have been eagles in the area for years but have never proven a threat before, very shocking and sad to witness. This cam is on the property of an Audubon camp in Bremen, Maine and the chef from the camp was laying on a hammock near the nest and witnessed it also. The female Osprey put up quite a fight as the male was not present at the time.
