Hi tweeters,

Birded yesterday in the Carnation area and Skykomish with Rex Gaoaen. We
did not see the Caracara despite two trips through the recent spots. But,
the residents we talked to had seen it Friday night so I imagine it's still
around. According to them, it's more unpredictable these days.

The Carnation area was good on the way out in the morning. Thanks to great
directions from a birder named Vicky we saw the singing male American
Redstart after walking in from the Fay Road access. Also at Stillwater,
Red-eyed Vireos were numerous, there were Bank Swallows over the river, and
there were at least three Lazuli Buntings.

In the hills above Stillwater we found a singing hybrid Hermit x Townsend's
Warbler. The bird was on Stossel Creek Way in the first hundred yards after
the road turns to gravel.

Good birding,

Sam Terry
