Thanks to all who kindly (and quickly) advised to take the bird to UW/Burke Museum/Collections Dept.
I actually just got back from there providing the Varied Thrush and information. I was also given a great tour of the collection department by Rob Faucett which is
quite fascinating.

It's great to know what to do with found birds and have one under my belt. Rob told me they basically take any specimens that don't smell bad.

I am glad this beautiful bird is now serving a purpose beyond its life. Like my mom - she too donated her body to science - she said she'd always wanted to go to Yale. ('99)
