Hey tweets, Jeff Gibson asked about the installation date for WSDOT's mitigation plan for Montlake Fill. He is correct that getting a straightforward answer from WSDOT has been difficult. I believe part of this is due to delays, and perhaps our objections have figured in that. The UW Botanic Gardens staff told me they think work will begin early this summer. They say their understanding is that WSDOT will begin with some of their planting plans, not with the conversion of the Dime Lot (E-5) into wetlands. If that is true, we still have a small window of opportunity to get WSDOT, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the UW to create real shorebird habitat at the Fill.
