Monday night around 10pm a Barred Owl was in my backyard on Education Hill. New yardbird! Bird was in a Western Cedar. I was out of town, but my husband phoned me and held his phone out the back door while the bird called "hoo hoo h' hooo". This was heard by 3 birders and confirmed by the sounds feature of iBird (which I had with me out of town). Not heard Tuesday night but will try again tonight.
