On a perfectly gorgeous walk in the Arboretum today I saw an adorable pair of grebes working on their aquatic nest in the backwater north of the visitor centre. Also spent time ten feet from a hard-working pileated WP along the shore of the same bit of water. I saw grebe chucks last year in the same area, so maybe it's the same pair again.
