Hey Tweets!

I made it over this weekend for the WOS field trip (see Matt Bartels' earlier post) plus a little owling on the side, and am sitting at a very happy 119.5 birds for my Mason County big year.

Important additions for me: Barred (downtown Belfair) and Northern Pygmy (Tahuya Blacksmith Road) owls, Eared Grebe, Pacific Loon and Western Bluebird. I do count heard-only birds, and I feel like people cleared the path for me to count the Mountain Quail, so I did... Hence the 0.5!

It'll keep me looking for them, because that half-point will be annoying to all parties involved. The purists because I counted it, the more flexible/creative people who figure i should just count it, and nobody more than myself every time I have to update the list with the 0.5. I also don't know for sure, but the ABA might not accept non-integer lists.

So I'll round up at some point this year... I hope!... When I get an even better listen and/or look.

I'll update the needs list soon, and thanks to everyone for a well planned trip with a wonderful group of people!
