Hey Tweets!

I birded a bit at Theler Wetlands this evening with Terry Sisson and JC Vicente, and we got a few good birds! Barn Swallows and Brown-headed Cowbirds were among the exciting birds for me just for the year list (which went up to 127. Woo hoo!), but shorebirds were the true birds of interest. We had several groups of Western and Least Sandpipers, and were able to find three Semipalmated Plovers in the mix. While Terry and I were looking through the scopes, JC heard Whimbrel calls and got us on a group of five of them flying overhead! They continued off north, so we may catch them in an hour or so when we go to camp at Belfair State Park.

Happy Birding!
