I returned to the Pt Brown Jetty (south end of Ocean Shores, Grays Harbor
County) this morning with markedly different results compared to Thursday
morning: Notable increase in Black-legged Kittiwakes, Surf Scoters and
Pacific Loons and my first Common/Arctic Terns of the year. 3 MANX
SHEARWATERS this morning! A Black Oystercatcher was at the end of the
jetty. Species totals are 6am-9am Thursday/6am-8am Saturday morning:

Western Grebe: 4/6
Pacific Loon: 875/2703 (undercount)
Common Loon: 80/75
Red-throated Loon: 12/25
Sooty Shearwater: 72/96
MANX SHEARWATER: 1/3 (my highest day count from shore ever! - 6:30, 6:58,
7:15)
Northern Fulmar: -/1
Brown Pelican: +/138
Brandt's Cormorant: +/15
Pelagic Cormorant: +/35
Double-crested Cormorant: +/6
Cackling Goose: 445/-
Greater White-fronted Goose: 250/260
Black Brant: 1/-
Green-winged Teal: 17/-
Greater Scaup: 11/6
American Wigeon: 17/-
Surf Scoter: 286/611
White-winged Scoter: 28/5
Black Turnstone: 2/1
Western Sandpiper: 62/46
Sanderling: 750/36
