With a peregrine on site the volatility was high. I had a brief look with binoculars at Canvasback Lake, but it didn?t stay long enough for a scope view. Those birds were gone quickly and Canvasback, South Big and Rest Lake were essentially empty by 1 pm. Look for long wings and pale back, larger than Western and Least Sandpipers and slimmer than Dunlin which are also out there.

The bird is alone at the Southend of Rest Lake far side where there is sheet water on a small patch of mudflat.

There is a peregrine falcon working the area as well and moving birds around. The Baird's has been in the same location for at least 30 minutes.
