Hi Tweets,

Having checked the calendar carefully to make sure there was no Husky game and that Opening Day had opened and closed, my friend and I chose this date for a UBNA bird/photography walk. Having not thought to check the gardening calendar, we didn?t realize that this was the Center for Urban Horticulture?s big plant sale, so the Fill was pretty crowded.

Nonetheless, we had some excellent bird encounters, most notably a Solitary Sandpiper (ID?d with the help of a young man we met there who seemed pretty confident of his ID). We also met a very bold Savannah Sparrow who walked around our feet, so close that I could only occasionally get him in focus with my zoom lens.

Good birding to all,
Trileigh
