Greetings all,
Birded Neah Bay today with Bruce LaBar, Charlie Wright, Dan Waggoner and Brad Waggoner.
Highlights were the raptor migration viewed mostly from Bahokas Peak - between the bench viewing area overlooking the town and a bit farther up the gravel road to a view point of the strait.
We had 28 Broad-winged Hawks! 25 from the peak, 2 more from the town flying over the ridge and 1 more from the Wa'atch Valley. Nearly all the raptors were catching thermals and making the trip across the strait. It was pretty amazing!
The other highlight was 6 Golden Eagles. 5 from the peak and 1 from the Wa'atch Valley.
