Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday May 7. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

The Beaverton BLUE GROSBEAK continues but is becoming more active. On May 5
a female BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD visited a feeder at Camp Adair north of
Corvallis. A BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was Malheur NWR Headquarters May 3 as
migrants are now arriving in numbers. Two RED-NECKED GREBES are now on the
Hines Sewage Ponds.

Heavy movements of PACIFIC LOONS, RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, and BONAPARTE?S
GULLS are now passing just offshore. Shorebird numbers are now peaking with
the main movement of WESTERN SANDPIPERS passing through. Several RED KNOTS
and RUDDY TURNSTONES were also reported. A movement of SWAINSON?S THRUSHES
is now arriving. A number of WESTERN TANAGERS and BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS are
being reported.

On May 3 a RED-EYED VIREO was at the Sandy River Delta. At least 30 WHITE
PELICANS continue in the Portland-Vancouver area. On May 2 a CHAT had
returned at Skyline Blvd and Moreland Road north of Portland. A GRASSHOPPER
SPARROW is now being seen along Sellers Road north of Banks. Others are
being reported elsewhere in the Umpqua and Willamette Valleys. On May 1 a
LAPLAND LONGSPUR was along Livermore Road north of Baskett Slough NWR. A
group of 12 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES are now at the Denman WMA near White City.
