Is it really Spring finally, or is there some other reason that birds we
have not seen here in Cinebar this year are visiting us in large numbers
again?

This week alone, along with the year-round residents (Jays, Chickadees,
Nuthatches, Doves, Towhees, and Flickers) those visitors have included:

large numbers of Pine Siskins

White Crown and Golden Crowned Sparrows (Usually we see one or two Song
Sparrows around our feeders all year round, too, but now there are more
of them also.)

Purple and Gold finches (Finches have nested in our trees for several
years now, but this year, those particular trees had to be cut down to
keep the house safe, so we are hoping the finches will nest in some of
our other trees.)

and a few Evening and Black-headed Grosbeaks.

We look forward to the return of the Varied Thrush!
