One word characterizes the day: Warblers!
More specifically, Wilson's Warbler. Although there was a very heavy
overcast and almost constant light drizzle, these warblers were everywhere.
Got to the point that if I approached a new set of trees and stood still
for 20-30 seconds, yet another Wilson's, or two, would appear. I counted 55
individuals but I'm sure there were double or triple that.

Adding to the strong pulse of Wilson's Warblers was a huge number of
Townsend's Warblers. I counted 17 individuals but I'm sure there were many
more. And both of these species were constantly vocalizing as well.

Other warblers included: many Orange-crowned, Yellow and Yellow-rumped,
plus many Common Yellowthroat, but a single Black-throated Gray.

Other notables:
Bufflehead - 1 female remains in Promontory Pond
California Quail - several walking the N-S trail
Pied-billed Grebe - calling from the reeds in the Entrance Pond; nesting?
Red-necked Grebe - 1 off swim beach
Cooper's Hawk - on nest
Band-tailed Pigeon - 1 or 2 calling and visible from Promontory Point
Barn Owl - 2 juveniles were out branching near the box across from the
tennis center; by 5:10, they were back in the box, taking turns sticking
their head out to look around
Red Crossbill (type 3) - flock of 8 or 9 flying around Promontory Point

Had to leave early to jump a dead battery. For the day, 53 species.
