I viewed a Wilson's Phalarope at Gardiner Beach Lagoon late this
afternoon. I got some distant id pictures that are diagnostic. A gorgeous
bird. I even saw it from my house which is quite a feat, but made easy by
the birds coloration and my scope.

There was a surprising invasion of duck species and shorebirds as well.
Western and Least Sandpiper, Short-billed Dowitcher and Greater Yellowlegs
were present. The lagoon has extensive mudflats because the King Tides
scoured out the outlet channel and the lagoon does not hold as much water
as it has previously. It has been a good spring shorebirding spot.
