Hi All,

Dan and I lead a great group of folks to a handful of spots in the
northern part of Kitsap County yesterday. We had a fabulous day and
netted slightly over 110 species - not too shabby for hitting only a
portion of the county. My original hope for the field trip was to show
fellow birders the terrific morning flight of migrants that can occur
some days at Point no Point during spring migration. I'm not sure I can
point to the calm, cool, and heavy cloud cover, but no morning flight
was evident on this day. Ah well, there was enough interesting things
around to make up for it.

County-level highlights included Blue-winged Teal, Whimbrel, Black
Swift, Townsend's Solitaire (a bit late), Chipping Sparrow, and
Yellow-headed Blackbird. The spots we birded included Eglon, Point no
Point/Hansville area, Foulweather Bluff Preserve, and Driftwood Keys.

Cheers and good birding,
