Hello Tweeters,
On Saturday the 16th Noah Sanday, Casey McHugh, Phil Wegener and I did a
big day in Whatcom County. We had a really fun day and met Mitch Blanton
half way through who added to the team, by the end we were able to find 129
species. We started along the hwy 9 valley, then traveling up to Heather
Meadows at Mt. Baker, and out to the the flats birding Blaine and Semiahmoo
and the Lummi/Ferndale area.
Highlights include:
Chipping Sparrow- Maleng rd by Acme
Vesper Sparrow- Eastwood rd (by black mountain ranch heading up to mt baker)
House Wren- Semiahmoo golf course
Lazuli Bunting- East Hemmi rd
Bank Swallow- East Pole rd and Mission rd
American Bittern- displaying at Tennant lake
Common Tern- Blaine public pier (over 200 birds)

Of course there were many more highlights, and many missing birds from the
list that should have been easy to find, but thats how it goes.

Best
