I don't know where you were in Florida, but Song Sparrows, below the
latitude of about Tampa in that state, are exceedingly rare, especially
south of Lake Okeechobee. In my 15+ years of living/birding in that state,
I only saw one. You wouldn't believe how many times Song Sparrow was vetted
from eBird and other citizen science projects for that area of the state.
