Hey tweets!

I zipped down to Flaming Geyser State Park after school today. I didn't relocate the Black Phoebe Sam Terry found yesterday, but had some first of year county birds (Western Wood Pewee, Black-headed Grosbeak, Yellow Warbler and Warbling Vireo), some vocal Virginia Rails, Red-breasted Sapsucker, Savannah Sparrows and Band-tailed Pigeons.

The highlight for me was seeing a muskrat, the first I've seen or at least the first since I started paying attention to varmints! It swam up to the shore of the pond about ten feet from me without paying me any mind, then dove back into the water and swam away. With a porcupine a couple weeks back, that's two additions to my varmint life list! Woohoo!
