We took a bike ride today on the Chehalis Western Trail from the Chambers Lake access point to 10 miles south before the heat got us. For the last five miles there were Willow Flycatchers everywhere. When we stopped for a break, there were at least three sounding off with one visible, fly catching off a nearby snag. This was a FOY for us. Also heard Pacific Slope Flycatchers, Yellow Warblers, Swanson?s Thrush, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Black-headed Grosbeaks. and plenty of bird songs we could not identify but the Willow Flycatchers were the treat of the day.

Cycling and birding?what a wonderful way to spend the day.
