Hello,
This year has started out with some unusual sightings in and about south Snohomish- north King County.
As a result of last years deaths from lead shot ingestion and the early flood we have had, we are seeking assistance from birders in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties as well as other sightings outside of Whatcom, Skagit counties. We want to track bird movements now so if deaths do happen we have more clues to find the cause or source of the lead shot.
In particular we will appreciate all sightings in the Snohomish, Monroe and south through the Snoqualmie Valley including the foothill areas. All swan species are included as the Tundra migration is now in full swing and they are migrating through this zone of the foothills, including the North Bend area.
Yesterday a juvenile Tundra Swan was picked up in North Bend at the Outlet Mall parking lot. It was there most of the day sitting on a grassy parking strip. It is now being evaluated by the NW Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Everson. It is not obvious what caused this youngster to drop out although the bird is thin and weak.

Thanks for your assistance. You can post to me directly at mj.cygnus at gmail.com even if you also post to e-bird.
Thanks.
