Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report

BLACK-VENTED SHEARWATERS continue to be seen off coastal headlands, often in
flocks. 110 were off the Rogue River October 20. The Yachats GROUND-DOVE
continues. A SPAGUE?S PIPIT was reported October 29 near Cape Blanco. A
SUMMER TANAGER was photographed November 1 near Woodland, Washington.

The MOUNTAIN CHICKADEE movement into Western Oregon continues. ELEGANT TERNS
continue, especially along the south coast.

On October 31 a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was at Gold Beach. Five SWAMP SPARROWS
and six WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were seen November 1 at Millicoma Marsh near
Coos Bay. On November 1 a LAYSAN ALBATROSS, 8000 FULMARS, 500 PINK-FOOTED
SHEARWATERS, 4000 SURF SCOTERS, 8000 RED PHALAROPES, a FRANKLIN?S GULL and
5000 HEERMANN?S GULLS were off Boiler Bay. A light phase HARLAN?S HAWK was
along hwy 6 east of Tiillamook November 4. On October 29 a WESTERN TANAGER
was photographed near Manzanita. A TROPICAL KINGBIRD and a NORTHERN SHRIKE
were at the Nehalem Sewage Ponds November 3. On November 4 a HARRIS?S
SPARROW was in Rockaway.

On November 3 a WHITE-FACED IBIS was near Vancouver Lake. The Gabriel Park
PYGMY NUTHATCH continues in Portland. On October 29 a SURF SCOTER, a
LONG-TAILED DUCK and two GREATER SCAUP were at the Philomath Sewage Ponds.
On October 31, 62 COMMON LOONS, a PACIFIC LOON, 16 EARED GREBES, 47 WESTERN
GREBES, a SURF SCOTER, and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were on Timothy Lake south
of Mt. Hood. A WHITE-WINGED SCOTER was on the Columbia River east of The
Dalles November 1.
