West Point in Discovery Park has been quite enjoyable for several weeks now. Y'day Jordan Gunn saw a Killdeer, a Black Turnstone & a Black-bellied Plover, which is still there today on the North Beach. Also a lot of fun have been marine mammal sightings, including Calif Sea-lion, Harbor Seal, a family group of River Otters and a Harbor Porpoise.

What have been absent are Ancient Murrelets, often mixed in with groups of Rhinocerous Auklets. In Gene Hunn's book he denotes the former as occurring in small numbers in October & December, with their peak numbers in November. Today there was 1 Rhino, but no other alcid. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
