Hello all,
Sorry for the short phone posts earlier. Glad to see some other folks were
out and looking and saw some great (for Puget Sound) birds. I thought I'd
do a quick wrap up of some of the great birds out on the sound this AM.

Parasitic Jaeger - Darn near the first bird I saw when I arrived before
dawn. Harrassing a group of birds. There may have actually been 2+ in this
group based on flight style, but in the poor light I could only see good
field marks on one bird. A second bird shortly later well south of the
first. I believe this bird ties the second latest PAJA sighting in eBird
(latest I could find was 11/22).

Northern Fulmar - Several very distant sightings of single birds. At least
one bird was a lighter morph. I stopped seeing NOFU after perhaps 9:15am so
it's interesting to see that they were still south of us after that.

Black-Legged Kittiwake - Juvenile seen flying south at maybe 8am?

Ancient Murrelet - After only a few Edmonds sightings this fall (and some
probable birds in august that I'd like a closer look at..) this was a nice
surprise. Three groups of 4, 10, and a single bird. Several Marbled
Murrelet flybys as well.

White-Winged Scoter - The hardest Scoter in Snohomish County. I eventually
lost count, but we had well over twenty. All flybys.

Dunlin - Several large flocks. Most flying over the water, but one went
back and forth past the south jetty several times. Sanderling and Red
Phalarope ruled out by the birds brownish appearance and good light.

Loons - Many more flybys than usual. 25-30? At least three species
present, but most appeared to be Pacific.

Good numbers of most of the usual birds seen for this time of year as well.
