Tweets ? while I should have had the sense to look for seabirds in Puget Sound this morning, I failed to think of it, and instead went to check on any damage or flooding at Marymoor Park.

Good news, very little damage. But a note to anyone who is coming out with us tomorrow, YOU?LL WANT YOUR TALL RUBBER BOOTS. There is about 8? of water across the trail and about 6? on part of the boardwalk. The only damage I noted was to the ?odd snag? just west of the park entrance. This extremely tall Doug Fir snag, with a broken top, has withstood a couple of decades of storms. It still stands, but it looks like the RED-TAILED HAWK NEST got blown from the top, and part of the top of the snag seems to be crumbling. Red-tails have nested there for at least the last 15 years. It will be interesting to see if they attempt to use the snag again.

As for birds, I managed 52 species today, the same as we had last Thursday. Amazingly, I saw 15 species today that I didn?t see Thursday (but that also means I didn?t find 15 species we did have Thursday).

W. MEADOWLARK Four in East Meadow, fragment of SONG
Purple Finch Heard one near E. end of boardwalk. First in 3 weeks.

We?ll see what tomorrow brings.
