Imagine my surprise and delight when, after landing this afternoon at the airport in McAllen TX and getting settled into my funky vintage trailer at Oleander Acres in Mission, I checked my mail and discovered Ed's post! So much useful, entertaining and timely information! I came to meet up with buddies from Maine who are birding/snowbirding here for a couple months. Saw two lifers - Green Jay and Golden-fronted Woodpecker - on the grounds here as soon as I looked around me. Getting started at Bentsen tomorrow.
