Dear Tweeters,
This afternoon, in between pre-Thanksigiving errands, I saw a couple of good gulls in Skagit County.
On Burmaster Road, much to my surprise, was a FRANKLIN'S GULL, apparently an adult. I took some beastly photos with my point-and-shoot camera, which is now on the blink. I hope the photos came out. I was twisting myself into a pretzel to get a look at it, with none of the glaring afternoon sun in my eyes, while the camera was helpfully suggesting, "Turn the power off and on again," over and over again.?
On the soccer fields in Burlington, by the river, there were only a few gulls left at sundown, but among them was an adult THAYER'S GULL.
Also in Burlington, the Anacortes Street Ponds had lots of waterfowl enjoying the thawing water, including about a hundred Cacklers, with a few Canada Geese with them.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
