Subject: [Tweeters] The August Murre wreck -- the wreckage still lies

I just came back from three days at the coast, and saw partially decomposed Common Murres with some frequency. My web search suggests these are left over from the wreck in August of this year, posted right here on Tweeters? I found one at North Cove, one at Grayland, and counted six in my transect along Twin Harbors. Many were still identifiable to species. Also at North Cove was one dead cormorant, unfortunately not identifiable to species.
It got my curiosity going: how far did the wreck extend, and what was the final body count? And was it all Common Murres, or would that cormorant be considered part of the same wreck?
