While not necessarily a "hot spot", this small spit of land jutting into Puget Sound was, as often happens, an excellent place to bird this morning. There were four species of mid to large gulls with many Mews mewing. A Marbled Murrelet mingled with a Red-throated Loon, Harlequin's Ducks & Surf Scoters.


On the landward side there was a warbler and a hummingbird species, Golden-crowned Sparrows singing and the two ROCK WRENS were both at the point, feeding among the rocks. One was picking from the ground, plover-like, the other leaping to catch small insects. Fortunately a nearby Bewick's Wren did not notice these interlopers. Happiness is.
