Hey Tweets!

Today's field trip was quite a success, and many good birds were found. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the trip were the sheer number of Heermans Gulls that were found, including ones at Lake Isabella, Eagle Creek, Lake Nahwatzel and Union. The two freshwater lakes were pretty surprising locations for sure!

Other good birds included a continuing White-throated Sparrow and Lincolns Sparrow at Hunter farms, a Mountain Quail covey seen it at Eagle Point. Western Meadowlarks seen on Skokomish Valley Road, Rhinoceros Auklet on Hood Canal, and most importantly, at long last American Coots on Lake Isabella.

Cara Borre and I came out of the weekend with new birds, putting me at 178 and her at 175, I believe, and the Mason County year list record at 179. Two more months of trips to go!
