Tweeters,

My Battle Ground, Clark County yard was discovered yesterday by a flock of
about 45 siskins. I watched them as they took over all of the feeders much
to the chagrin of the local chickadees which were powerless to regain
control of the feeders. This morning, the flock had grown to about 80+
siskins and I decided to have some fun with them. I took the chair out to
the deck and sat next to the feeders with some seed in my hand and
scattered some on the ground nearby. It didn't take long for the siskins
to return and discover the food. Very soon after, they were eating out of
my hand and landing on my feet, legs, shoulders, hands, head, and arms.
Included in the flock were at least ten American Goldfinches. No selfies
though :(

Amazing how light a Pine Siskin is - I almost couldn't feel them land on my
head!

Keep your eyes and ears, uh, well, skyward and everywhere else.

Jim
