Hi Tweeters,

Just before sunset tonight (10/23/15) the juvenile BROWN BOOBY put on a fun
display for Eric (local birder whose last name I've forgotten - sorry) and
me. For 15 - 20 minutes it flew back and forth from two thirds to three
quarters of the way to the spit directly out from our position at 3 Crabs.
It would dive in frequently, usually at a very shallow angle to a maximum
of 45 degrees, and flew quite low to the water for the most part. After
diving it would sit on the water briefly before taking off again, although
we were unable to see if the dives were successful. At one point toward the
end it was probably only half way across, and as the fading light was
getting bad the bird headed off to the northeast, quit diving and got out
of sight. Thanks for getting us on this bird Eric!
