This morning i have had a fair number of shorebirds on the Refuge, River S Unit, including 5 pectoral, 200 western and 150 least sandpipers. Also 1 long-billed dowitcher, 9 lesser and two greater yellowlegs. There were 27 American white pelicans flying over and a peregrine falcon chasing a gull. A single sandhill crane feeding in the field east of South Big Lake.

Good to be back from California and back in the saddle again.
