Hi everybody!

Checklist today from Ridgefield (just to follow up my report of Lewis'
Woodpecker on the route today). Met up with a lot of birders on the refuge
today which made for a fun day!

Missed some of the shorebirds Jim picked up this morning, but did add a
Solitary Sandpiper.

Short-billed Dowitcher 1 One bird spent some time apart in a fairly near
location, was able to observe with scope. It appeared more slender that
the other dowitchers, flat-backed and not as round under. Terts were
filled with rich red "tiger-stripes" in addition to the fringe color.

Lewis's Woodpecker 1 Saw crow-like flight and flycatching behavior
(which caught my attention). Dark-winged/backed woodpecker perching at the
dead, bare portions of large ash trees. Flycatching occasionally from
perches. Some foraging from surface of branches. When viewed from
binoculars and scope, could see the greenish sheen to back, silver complete
collar, dark face that showed red when the light hit it right, pinkish red
breast/abdomen. Stiff, pointed tail feathers also noted. Photos available.
