The Franklin's Gull was present at John Wayne Marina and Pitship Pocket
Estuary this morning. The bird was on the beach at the marina and on the
water outlet from the estuary and on the docks. After a brief rain this
morning at John Wayne Marina there was a fallout that
included Black-throated Gray (12), Townsend's (4), Yellow-rumped (2) and
Yellow Warbler (3). There were at least ten Chestnut--backed Chickadee and
nuthatches, kinglets and a Brown Creeper.

At the end of Cat Lake Road (just off Diamond Point Road) I saw 13 Western
Bluebirds in a flock. Associating with this flock were three Yellow-rumped
Warbler and several other birds I did not identify. Blue bird nesting must
have been very successful in the area.
