Had a solid coverage of the public portion of Graysmarsh today. This included the public beach; the beach accessible north of Port Williams State Park; all of Holland Rd. frontage; Wilcox Lane; those portions of the property along Port Williams Rd., Geirin Creek edges, Geirin Lane, and Brown Rd. near north end. Anne Winskie and I between us walked 6.5 miles and spent 7 hours and 20 minutes, detecting 101 species. Highlights included:

GRAYSMARSH, CLALLAM COUNTY--56 to 62 F., cloudy with SSW wind 5-15 mph

Gr White-fronted Goose 34
7 shorebird species including a late SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER at the beach in w/other peep; W. Sandpiper 90 (new high)
1878 Calif. Gulls, high count
ELEGANT TERN 2 (both juv, bold white forehead, yellow bill, one bird vocalized)
Eur. Collared-Dove 53 (new high count)
Anna's Hummingbird 8 (same)
Rufous Hummingbird 1 (late)
4 swallow sp including N. Rough-winged 1, Purple Martin 2, V-G Swallow 400 (high count)
House Wren 1
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 1 (FOS)
Am. Pipit 1
7 warbler sp, 59 individuals, no rarities, Orange-cr most numerous (28)
CHIPPING SPARROW 1 (first-winter)
Golden-crowned Sparrow 24 (only had my FOS yesterday)
White-crowned Sparrow 83 (high count)

Full list headed for EBird. The ELEGANT TERN is a first for the Grays list. Over at Carrie Blake Park, or more accurately the road skirting its east side, we also had a latish WILLOW FLYCATCHER and a singing FOX SPARROW (FOS) that we could not spot, and four WARBLING VIREOS.
