Four birders were able to see a Solitary Sandpiper yesterday afternoon. It was first found in Willow Creek. It remained overnight and four of us watched it this morning around 10 a.m. It was feeding in a lead of water in the large central mud flat in the Edmonds marsh. It then headed back into Willow Creek. Two of my photos can be seen in this Flickr group: https://www.flickr.com/groups/birdsofedmonds/ <https://www.flickr.com/groups/birdsofedmonds/> or in this eBird checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S24931017 <http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S24931017> .

Solitary Sandpiper is a code 3 species for Snohomish County and has already been seen this year in the county. It is a code 5 species for Edmonds. All four sightings have been in the marsh in August 2000, May 2001, August 2009, and now September 2015.
