Hello all,

Did a quick birding stent at Julia Butler Hansen Wildlife Refuge this afternoon. Had a Red-Shouldered Hawk across from the houses near the entrance, across the slough perched lower on a snag. The bird gave me two brief looks, an osprey seemed to scare it away so didn't get any pics.

Also, we had a Black Phoebe that we heard twice But, Becca, my wife, saw it briefly but I wasn't able to get a look. Among other common species, highlights were:

Greater Yellowlegs x2
Gadwall
Caspian Tern
Vaux's Swifts
Golden-Crowned Sparrow
Western Wood Pee-Wee

Good Birding,
