I swear. Quite a bit sometimes. But not on Tweeters. It say's right there in the Tweeters Posting Guidelines that we are all supposed to be having a conversation " conducted in the finest tradition of civil discourse". I understand that to include not writing swear words.
So I thank Tweeters for making me want to be a better man! Or at least to have a little more restraint in my communication. I'm not really a better man since I still think of swear words when I write some of my posts (especially skirting around issues that peeve me off, like greedy birders ,nature paparazzi, and destructive land use), but I restrain myself. I'm making progress, and I thank Tweeters for that. Really.
Like I said, some issues do make me pretty angry, and that whole mitigation deal down at the Montlake Fill is one of them, and I'm gonna write some more letters about that soon. I have found the words of that great philosopher, Mary Poppins, to be helpful at times; " a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down". Hey I've used it before in public speaking, and a bit of amusement can really help get the message across without dumbing down the conversation. Hey, Mary Poppins was no fool, and I'll bet she swore quite a bit behind closed doors. Hey, nobody's perfect.
