I returned to the spit to check for the red knot and couldn't find it at the evening high tide.
However there was an American golden plover .It stood at the end of a line of hundreds
Of black bellied plovers.
It looks like a juvenile.
When it flew ,it was all dark unlike the myriad larger BBPLs.
