I was just past marker 5 when I heard two Red-shouldered Hawks calling back and forth. I stayed to see if I could get a visual identification. After about 10 minutes one of the hawks flew across the road, from the right side into the trees on the left.? I never did see the second one.
I also saw a Western Meadowlark in the grass on the edge of the road between marker 12 and 13.
